As I promised last week I would do another Top10 dedicated to my favorite serie Entourage. For today I have chosen for my favorite cameo ‘s. Let’s start with an explanation from Wikipedia: A cameo role, also called a cameo appearance and often shortened to just cameo (/ˈkæmioʊ/), is a brief appearance of a well-known person in a work of the performing arts. These roles are generally small, many of them non-speaking ones, and are commonly either appearances in a work in which they hold some special significance (such as actors from an original movie appearing in its remake) or renowned people making uncredited appearances. Short appearances by celebrities, film directors, politicians, athletes or musicians are common.
Entourage took cameo’s to the next level, both by amounts of cameo’s but also the stars that did a cameo. It’s not just a bunch of C stars, but some great names in there. Last week I found a site from someone who counted the cameo’s, and ranked them all. Job well done! I’ll just stick with a Top10 of my favorites.
10. Kanye West
In season 4 when the boys and Ari are going to Cannes all airports are closed. Initially they found a ride on Sidney Pollack’s plane, but there was one place short. Lucky for them Kanye shows up (how does Turtle know Kanye?) and offers them a ride.
9. U2
In season two the boys are going to a U2 concert because of Drama’s birthday. During one of the songs Bono congratulates Drama. I just recently found out how they fixed this. It was just a matter of approach and ask as I found out through Jeremy Piven’s podcast.
8. Zac Efron
In season 6 Ari convinced Zac Efron to dump his agent Adam Davies and choose for Ari. Adam Davies being dumped is funny, but that happening while Zac is stalked in the store makes it even funnier.
7. James Cameron
How cool is it that you the movie star in a series is going to star in a movie, and the director of the movie is James Cameron? Pretty cool IMHO! Cameron did multiple cameo’s in the series. Besides Cameron they also convinced Martin Scorsese to do a cameo.
6. Gary Busey
Just like Cameron Busey also did multiple cameo’s. Not sure if he is the same in real life though. But the man did certainly not spare himself.
5. Mark Wahlberg
As mentioned before, the series is loosely based on Mark’s experiences at the start of his career. He was also executive producer so it is no surprise he popped up every now and then.
4. Mark Cuban
How cool is it if you can even convince billionaire’s like Warren Buffett and Mark Cuban to make an apperance? Since Warren only has one short cameo I made the choice for Cuban in the Top10. He decides to invest in Avion and thanks to that both Vince and Turtle are now loaded. The part of his financial partner Ken Austin is played by Bob Odenkirk.
3. Matt Damon
Matt really persists Vince (and Drama) donate money to a charity he runs. When he makes a phone call Drama claims that he ‘Jason Bourned’ him.
2. Jamie Lyn Siegler
How badass is Jamie? If you are playing yourself in a serie and the first encounter is when you jerk Turtle off on an airplane, you are pretty badass. After that she got in a relationship with Turtle, kissed in a movie with Drama but then left to record a series in Australia.
1. Bob Saget
If number two is already badass, then what about number one? Well, when you are playing yourself and ask to fuck on your agents desk to sign a contract you are definately a winner!
