Day 330: Favorites from 1976

Tough choice today. I suffering a bit from lack of inspiration. No special days worthwile mentioning. Only one birthday I could relate to. But that is Tina Turner’s birthday. And I already did a Tina Turner Top 10 earlier this year when she passed away.

But luckily there is always inspiration through music. This afternoon I heard today’s number 3 on the radio. I was wandering how old that song is. Turns out to be from 1976. And that is a year I did not catch before. And a special year too, since both my sister and sister in law were born in 1976. Looking at the charts it is another great year for music. Here are my favorites from 1976. Enjoy!

1. John Miles – Music

Maybe I should adjust my funeral songs list. Love this one.

2. Nazareth – Love Hurts

3. Tavares – Heaven Must Be Missing An Angel

Yep, I heard this one earlier today. Happiness all over in this song.

4. Elton John & Kiki Dee – Don’t Go Breaking My Heart

Damn that clip is hilarious.

5. The Real Thing – You To Me Are Everything

6. ABBA – Dancing Queen

Off course there is ABBA in this list.

7. Lee Towers – You Never Walk Alone

The original was recorded in 1945, but Lee Towers is still succesfull with this song. Love that suit Lee.

8. Boney M – Daddy Cool

The French still play this at every local party.

9. Wild Cherry – Play That Funky Music

Still seems fresh to me.

10. Marianne Rosenberg – Ich Bin Wie Du

Sorry, just a guilty pleasure.
