Day 308: Favorite M*A*S*H Characters

I was browsing today’s birthdays on Wikipedia earlier and noticed that today is Loretta Swit‘s birthday. Who? I can hear some of you asking. My younger readers will probably not even know her, but people from my age and older will definately know this lady. Loretta Switt played Margaret Hot Lips Houlihan in the very succesful TV serie MASH. This serie run from 1972 till 1983. And after that it got a rerun, and another one and another one. This actually one of my favorite TV series ever.

This series is about a Mobile Army Surgical Hospital in the Korean war. And there are quite a few interesting characters in the serie. Lots of dry humor and sarcasm. Just the way I like it. So in honour of Loretta Swit’s birthday (86 candles, wow) today I am sharing my Top 10 of favorite characters.

1. Capt. Benjamin Franklin Hawkeye Pierce

The king of sarcasm and silly practical jokes.

2. Col. Sherman T. Potter

3. Cpl./2nd Lt. Walter Radar O’Reilly

Isn’t he cute and funny?

4. Capt. B.J. Hunnicutt

The replacement of Trapper McIntyre, a little bit funnier in my opinion.

5. Maj. Margaret Hot Lips Houlihan

6. Cpl./Sgt. Maxwell Q. Max Klinger

Nope, this is not a LGBTQIA+ thing, just someone who tries to get removed from the army.

American intelligance agents who makes several appearances throughout the series.

8. Maj. (Lt. Col.) Frank Burns

The favorite target of Hawkeye and others.
