Day 267: Favorites from 1982

So, did you all enjoy the weather today? It was absolutely great. My mother is having her birthday tomorrow, but we already celebrated it today. We had a family lunch at Porterhouse in Weesp. The location looks a bit like a beachclub, but then with no beach. The weather was good, the view was good, the food was good, the company was good. On the way back we visited a dear friend we know from our holidays in France, good to see her too.

And now it is getting late again, so time to work on my daily list. Although I thought I already covered most years of the 80s, we still have some years left. I just browsed through all previous lists, and there are still 4 years to go. So after this one, still 3 left.

So for today I picked 1982. So I was not even 10 years old at the time. Did not even understand what the English songs were about I think, so the melodies and rhythm did a good job. Looking back at the charts from that year I see lots of great music that definately made a big impression at the time. So here we go, my favorites from 1982, enjoy!

1. Anita Meyer – They Don’t Play Our Love Song Anymore

Definately a guilty pleasure song.

2. Doe Maar – De Bom

Hollands biggest band at the time.

3. Ph. D – I Won’t Let You Down

4. Drukwerk – Je Loog Tegen Mij

My uncle’s favorite band back then. I remember he always played this in his car (Saab 900).

5. Yazoo – Don’t Go

6. Paul McCartney & Stevie Wonder – Ebony & Ivory

7. Eddy Grant – I don’t wanna dance

8. F.R David – Words

9. The Human League – Don’t You Want Me

10. Kid Creole & The Coconuts – Annie I’m Not Your Daddy
