Day 262: Healthy pirates

Arrr, as ye might know, I often find me inspiration through music on this journey across the high seas. If not from the tuneful melodies, then from tales whispered by the wind, news from distant shores, or the learnin’ scrolls of Wikipedia and Days Of The Year.

Today, me hearties, we find ourselves blessed with not one but two special days. On the serious end, it be the Day Of The Dietist, guidin’ us toward healthier habits. But on the lighter side, it be International Talk Like a Pirate Day, a day fer makin’ merry in the manner of buccaneers.

This got me to ponderin’, it did. Be there music to stir the souls of pirates, or perhaps a treasure chest of favorite pirate series and films hidin’ in the depths of me memory? Aye, there be favorites aplenty, both in song and on the silver screen.

But then it came to me, mates. Why take the easy route when a true pirate can splice the mainbrace and mix both special days into one grand adventure? So here be me diet advice fit for a swashbucklin’ pirate:

1. Shiver Me Timbers with Veggies

Swap out some of them hardtack biscuits for fresh vegetables like carrots and celery, and ye’ll be feelin’ spry on the poop deck.
