Day 235: Ride The Wind day

Well well, we have another day of the year that triggers a lot of music in me. On my daily look at Days Of The Year, I first stumbled upon Cheap Flight Day. But since we just returned from France, and I am in the process of finding a new job, this perios might not be the most convenient one to book a flight.

Than I noticed today is also Ride The Wind Day. While this day is actually a day to encourage literally riding the wind through parachute jumping, windsurfing, getting on a plane, or any other wind related activities, my mind started playing music. And one song lead to another, and then the next one. So today’s Top 10 is all about the wind, enjoy!

1. Scorpions – Wind of Change

I guess this is also the most succesfull windy song.

2. Patrick Swayze – She’s Like The Wind ft. Wendy Fraser

From 1987 movie Dirty Dancing. I almost forgot about this one. Swayze was actually a pretty good singer.

3. Christopher Cross – Ride Like The Wind

This was the song that popped up in my head. The 1991 remake by East Side Beat is nice too.

4. Queen – Ride The Wild Wind

This one just missed the Top 10 of my previous Queen favorites list.

5. Nina Simone – Wild Is The Wind

Should I do a Nina Simone Top 10 sometime? Yes, I should.

6. Kansas – Dust In The Wind

7. Bob Seger And The Silver Bullet Band – Against The Wind

I just discovered this one today, nice!

8. Sendelica, Secret Knowledge, The Orb – Windmill (Chocolate Orb Dubbed Mix)

It is some time ago that I had an Orb remix in one of my lists.

9. Thomas Fehlmann – In The Wind

And another one, Thomas Fehlmann is a former member of The Orb.

10. Piet Veerman – Sailing home

I just came to the conclusion that counting was not at it’s best today, since I prepared only 9 songs. So just adding this one on the fly. Without wind sailing would not be possible.
