We had quite a number of special days of the year today. World Honey Bee Day, National Potato Day, National Aviaton Day and a few others. The only one that actually I found interesting was World Photography Day. But then I want to share some great pictures I made myself, which meaned I have to browse through my collection of 1000s of photo’s. And since we were going to bbq at my sisters, I had no time for that.
So I had a look on Wikipedia for some more ideas and found out today is the birthday of Nico Hülkenberg. I am a big fan of Nico. Too bad he has never got to a podium so far. And unless some miracles happen, it is not very likely that he will get an a podium with the Haas car. Nevertheless he is a real qualification monster and sometimes brings nice surprises.
My plan was to share some of the funny interviews Nico had over the years. And he has quite a few, he always seems so relaxed and has lots of fun with the interviewers. Especially in the past with the Ziggo team on locations since Nico speaks quite good Dutch too.
And then my plan got changed. On the way to my sister we heard on the radio that today is also Romantic Music Day. And we all know that I’m really into music. But why not do a combination of events. With above words about Nico and the fact that I think he is one of the best looking drivers on the grid, I could say that I have a bit of a man crush. So here we go, 10 love songs for Nico, happy B’day!
1. Vadim Zhukov featuring Megan Sampson – Heart Connected (Solarstone Reconstructed Mix)
I already shared this one on multiple other lists, still does the trick for me. A genuine trance love song.
2. Al Green – Let’s Stay Together
Yep, also shared before, love his voice.
3. Bruce Springsteen – I’m On Fire
Bruce is not very well known for this type of songs (Jaep Kees correct me if I’m wrong), but this one was a great succes.
4. Righteous Brothers – Unchained Melody
Damn, this is old, from 1965. But still working for me.
5. John Legend – All Of Me
Such great lyrics.
6. Elvis Presley – Can’t Help Falling in Love
More old stuff, from The King this time.
7. Frank Sinatra – I’ve Got You Under My Skin
To croon, or not to croon, that’s the question.
8. Journey – Faithfully
Journey is more known for Don’t Stop Believin’, but this is a nice one too.
