Day 226: National Tattoo Removal Day

This morning I found out that today is National Tattoo Removal Day. For me it is hard yo imagine you want to get rid of a tattoo. But on the other hand there a a lot of tattoo’s around where the artist just failed, or someone decided a tattoo under influence or in a mental breakdown. So in some cases I do understand you want to have a tattoo removed. My initial plan was to make a Top 10 of worst tattoo’s. But that would be really hard to choose, since there are so many around. Just have a look here or here.

When I was in Brittany for the first time in 1990 and noticed the Triskell, the unoffial symbol of Brittany, I knew I wanted a tattoo with that symbol. It took me 24 years to finally get it. Mainly because I was a bit afraid. But in 2014 I found a great design so I had to do it. So my tattoo might be the most considerd tattoo in history, so no way that should be removed.

And yes, off course I want more ink. But again, I’m still not sure what else I would get. So for today’s Top 10 I’m reversing the subject and place 10 possible new tattoo designs.

My Triskell tattoo, done by Robbie Coventry

1. Orb Auntie Aubrey

As you know meanwhile I am a big fan of The Orb. So an Orb related would not be that strange. A tattoo with the turtles from their Auntie Aubrey’s Excursions Beyond The Call Of Duty would be great.

2. Pure Trance

More music. I am listening to Solarstone’s radioshows for more than 10 years. I am a big fan of his Pure Trance movement, so why not show that on my body?

3. Nike Air Max

Since a couple of years I really started to appreciate the Nike Air Max 1 shoe. A tattoo would be a great expansion of my collection.

4. Polynesian sleeve

Sunch an amazing peace of art. This one is done by Jarno at Tattoo Left Hand. The place where my tattoo was done too.

5. Sak Yant

Traditional Thai tattoo. For the tough people. This should be done in the traditional way.

6. Mandala

During our stay in France Natasja had a Mandala coloring book. There were some great design in there.

7. Hawaiian Tribal Tattoo

Absoloutely stunning, but not for me I guess, although I do have great legs.

8. Aztec Tribal Tattoo

Love the details in this one.

9. La Vie Est Belle

I am a big fan of the song La Vie Est Belle by Diggy Dex. So this is definately an option.

10. Celtic Heart Tattoo

Or should I get another celtic tattoo to accompany my Triskell?
