Day 147: Favorite Tom Cruise movies

So this morning I was shaking the oatmilk to make Natasja a cappucino. When I was shaking it, I joked I amost seemed like Tom Cruise in Cocktail. And there I had my subject for today. Favorite movies with Tom Cruise. Looking back at the list it seems I like the younger Tom a bit more than the older one. And maybe he is meanwhile for a lot of people known for the Mission Impossible movies. Never been a fan of those either. So here are my favorites.

10. Jack Reacher (2012)

The first time I heard Tom Cruise would star in the Reacher movie I was pretty pissed. I have been a big fan of the book serie by Lee Child. From the Jack Reacher Wikipedia page: Reacher is described as being 6 feet 5 inches (1.96 m) tall, weighing 210–250 pounds (95–113 kg) and having a 50-inch (130 cm) chest. So casting Tom Cruise seemed pretty odd. But once I forgot that fact this turned out to be a decent movie.

9. Valkyrie (2008)

I have always been a sucker for WWII movies. This one also stars Dutch actress Carice van Houten.

8. Collateral (2004)

Not all hitman will use a taxi…

7. Born on the Fourth of July (1989)

Guess he would imagined returning from war a bit different.

6. Jerry Maguire (1996)

Show me the money!!! Also with the lovely Renée Zellweger. You had me at hello.

5. The Color of Money (1986)

4. Days of Thunder (1990)

On the set of this movie he met Nicole Kidman who he later married (and divorced). Also starring Robert Duvall.

3. The Firm (1993)

The first in a series of great book adaptions from writer John Grisham.

2. Top Gun (1986)

One of the biggest blockbuster movies from the 80s. The sequel movie from last year is great too.

1. A Few Good Men (1992)

Saw this movie so many times. Great acting from both Cruise and Nicholson. Besides them also great parts from Demi Moore, Kiefer Sutherland, Kevin Bacon and Kevin Pollak. Did you order the code red?
