Day 144: 10 Angels songs

So last night Natasja had a song stuck in her head. Or to be more precise, just a few words and a melody. After she mentioned it to me I found out she picked up this earworm from a Solarstone set I had been listening to. It turned out to be Ferry Corsten & Betsie Larkin – Made of Love.

After that I played the song again myself, what a stunning tune. From there on I was thinking about other trance favorites and noticed there are quite a few songs with angel in the title. So at that point I decided that todays list would be about tracks with angels in it.

My initial thought was to keep it general but while creating a list I found out there are quite a few trance tracks with this subject. So sorry for U2’s Angel of Harlem and Robbie William’s Angels. Besides two other tracks this whole list contains trancy angels.

Adding an angel related bonus track as well.

10. Ralph Fridge – Angel (Club Mix)

9. Giuseppe Ottaviani & Lucid Blue – Be The Angel

One of the most recent songs in this list. This is from 2021.

8. Paul Webster feat. Angelic Amanda – Time (Sean Tyas Remix)

She indeed has an angelic voice.

7. Massive Attack – Angel

First non trance track in this list. Yesterday I mentioned a track from their debut album. This one is from their 1998 Mezzanine album. Great!

6. Solarstone & Scott Bond – Naked Angel (Original Mix)

Off course my hero Solarstone has an Angel track too.

5. Joe Smooth – Promised Land

2nd non trance track in the list. And not even an angel in the title. But it is an absolute house classic, and the lyrics say Were the angels from above, fall down and spread their wings like doves. One of the dearest records in my collection.

4. Dennis Sheperd & Cold Blue feat. Ana Criado – Fallen Angel (Dennis Sheperd Club Mix)

Entering the top 4 now and the vocals are getting better and better.

3. Alex M.O.R.P.H. feat. Sylvia Tosun – An Angel’s Love (Vocal Mix)

Great switch in uptempo and breakdown for that beautiful vocal. Very emotional.

2. Gareth Emery feat. Christina Novelli – Concrete Angel (John O’Callaghan Remix)

One great DJ remixed a track from another great DJ. And again a track with a stunning emotional vocal.

1. Paul Van Dyk – For An Angel (JK Walker & Marcos Bootleg)

When I heard this play in a club I always ran till in front of the DJ booth. No vocals in this one, but an absolute dancefloor killer.

Bonus track: RAM & Susana – RAMelia (Tribute To Amelia) (Original Mix)

OK, no angel in the title or lyrics of this one. This track is dedicated to DJ Ram’s wife Amelia who died way too young. And since Ram’s nickname for Amelia was Angel Eyes, and it is an abolute brilliant track, it surely deserves an extra place in this list. Goosebumps and/or tears guaranteed.
