So, I just found out that apparently today is No Dirty Dishes Day. A day where you decide to go out for dinner, use disposables or do whatever to avoid having to do the dishes. Anyway, for me a bit late since I already cooked and did the dishes straight after.
But can I do anything with this subject? Songs about dishes, I’m sure I can find some, but why not share some dirty dishes lifehacks? I just found some sites with tips to make doing the dishes easier and more fun. Some of them are a bit of an open door. But hey, who cares? So I just picked my favorites from this site and this site. Here we go.
1. Listen to something fun
Don’t just stand there thinking about your insane to-do list for the week. That’s stressful! Instead, put on some music or your favorite podcast — anything to help pass the time.
2. Make it a mindfullness moment
Sometimes, the last thing we need after a busy day is more stuff. No more noise, no more thinking. Some of our readers have said they use dishwashing time to meditate and practice gratitude. Not that you need to be thankful for chores, but it’s worth noting that you had food for your family and dishes to use in the first place.
3. Work from cleanest to dirtiest dishes.
4. Use an extra oven rack as a drying rack over the sink.
5. Install a dish draining closet over the sink.
6. Clean a burnt pan with vinegar and baking soda.
7. Run soapy water through your blender.
8. Don’t feel like you have to wash everything.
9. Don’t put dirty dishes in the sink. This is intimidating and scary.
10. If you have any pots or pans that are mega, caked-on grease dirty, let them soak somewhere while you get started.
But the best way to avoid dishes is just getting a decent dishwasher. But off course you still need to put the dirty dishes in and get it out one it’s clean.
