Somewhere in 2016 I bought my first drone. Soon after I found out that is not as easy as it looks to make good videos. And even if you are able to shoot great footage, you still need to put lots of time and effort in editing the video’s. Nevertheless we took the drone on several holidays in Brittany and Thailand. Quite an adventure since the drone I had at that time was a DJI Phantom 3. In a protective case it was quit big. In 2019 we went on holiday to Sri Lanka. Got the new, smaller drone just a week before we left, so hardly any time to practice. But again I’m still happy with the aftermovie from that holday (celebrating the 50th marriage of my parents).
But since December 2020 there is a new drone legislation. To fly legally you need to folllow an online course, take an exam, and register the drone. So I have not used the drone ever since. But that will change sometime soon. Earlier this week I registered for the course and did some studying. This morning I took the exam and passed with a 9.3 score.
So this summer I will do some more practising and polish my video editing skills. So maybe after summer you might see a new drone video by myself. Untill then, there are plenty of great video’s on YouTube. Here are some cool ones, enjoy!
