Mondays can be tough, is it the end of the weekend? Or is it the start of a new week? But there’s nothing like some good music to help start the week off right. From classicical music to trance and ambient, these tracks are sure to put a spring in your step and make your Monday a little more bearable. So, without further ado, here are our top 10 favorite songs with Monday in the title!
10. Tito Simon – This Monday Morning Feeling
Found this on Total Reggae Party, a 5CD compilation which I have because there is an Orb track on it.
9. Marillion – Chelsea Monday
From reggae to Marillion, quite a big step.
8. Ludovici Einaudi – Monday
Seems like we are jumping from one genre to another.
7. Kylie Minoque – Can’t Get Blue Monday out of My Head
New Order’s Blue Monday was already mentioned in a previous Top10, here is a mash up by Kylie Minoque.
6. Nick Hook – Enhanced (Mike Monday & Nick Hook Mix)
OK, I admit, I’m cheating again. Monday in a name counts for me too. Taken from Nick Warren’s Global Underground 18 album.
5. Boomtown Rats – I don’t like Mondays
Classic from 1980 with a young Bob Geldof.
4. Nat Monday – Waiting (John Creamer & Stephane K Remix)
Another name cheat, and again from a Global Underground album.
3. Alex M.O.R.P.H. feat. Shannon Hurley – Monday Morning Madness (Original Mix)
After two more progressive tracks from those Global Underground albums, it’s time for a vocal trance banger.
2. The Orb – Loving You On A Monday Night In Heaven
Can’t slip in an Orb track in every time, but this time I can with this unreleased demo.
1. The Bangles – Manic Monday
Written by Prince, intended as a release for Apollonia 6 in 1984. But plans got changed and this was released as a single for The Bangles in 1986. It became The Bangles first hit. Prince did some occasional performances by singing the song himself.
