So, the day after the day before. Yesterday was my birthday, and although I did share the Class of 1973, I did not tell how the day passed by.
In the morning Natasja arranged a great breakfast with fresh orange juice, bread and croissants. After that she needed a little bit more time to prepare my present. So I went for my daily swim/dive. On the way back I noticed that she already dropped me a message that the present was ready.
When I returned home I had to go and sit in front of the TV and she started a video. It turned out she reach out to family, friends and a former colleague and asked all of them to record a short video message with some anecdotes. And most of them were engaged since I watched about 33 minutes of great video’s and anecdotes.
Absolutely mindblowing to see/hear all these congratulations, anecdotes and kind words. And not just from close family, but also from nieces I haven’t seen in ages. On the (former) colleague front Ruud did a great job and asked several other ex collegues to record a short message. Great job, and some of them realy surprised me and brought a big smile on my face. And from the closer friends also great video’s, and even bigger surprises. Some really unexpcted apperances, love it💖
I felt honoured, loved, overwhelmed and a lot of other emotions at the same time. But straight after the video ended I had to join on the last day of my ITIL Specialist practise. So I had some issues to grab myself together to focus on the training. A bit later the trainer had some network issues as well. So we joined again in the afternoon, did a test exam which I passed. Will book the exam somewhere next week and spend a few more hours on it, and it will be fine.
During the day the mailman brought a bunch of cards, even got some presents by mail, and in the evening lots of calls. So although I did not celebrate my birthday, you can say that I was spilled very much, especially on the emotional front. Thanks again for gettings this together babe💖 And off course also thanks to the assistants who helped you out! Thanks mum & dad! Thanks Ruud! It is a day later now, and I am still glowing and buzzing.
So, what about today’s list? Let’s stay in the year of my birth, 1973. Off course I was too young to build any musical memories at the time, but some of this music I picked up later in life. Probably not the best year in music, but that got well compensated by the perople from this year. Enjoy!
1. Pink Floyd – Breathe
In yesterdays list I alredy mentioned Pink Floyd’s Dark Side Of The Moon album. So off course my favorite track from that album is today’s number one.
2. Golden Earring – Radar Love
Dutch pride!
3. The Temptations – Papa Was A Rolling Stone
I posted the version by George Michael and Queen before, never realised the original is this old.
4. Fleetwood Mac – Albatross
Actually this track is from 1968. Apparently it took 5 years before it reached the Dutch charts.
5. Boudewijn de Groot – Jimmy
More Dutch Pride!
6. Michael Jackson – Ben
I was being born, and MJ already had a career.
7. Carly Simon – You’re So Vain
8. Rolling Stones – Angie
Never been a big Stones fan, probably their biggest hit.
9. Roberta Flack – Killing Me Softly
I actually do have some remixes of this track in the collection.
