The inspiration for today’s list came early this morning. I was on a way to the first of three days for a training. ITIL Foundations v4 in case you are curious.
On my way I was listening to the morning show on Radio 10. In that show they play a game with music. There is one song as a starting point, from there they play another song, and the contestant has to guess of that next record is older or newer than the previous one. The starting record today was the Babys Isn’t It Time. A record I had never heard before. Maybe it was because that record is from 1977. And since I turned 4 in 1977 I do not have many musical memories from that year. Looking at the charts there is only one song that I might have picked up at the time. But that one did not make it in today’s list.
So all muisc in today’s list I have picked up somewhere later in life. Nevertheless, there was some great musin made in that year. And in this year one of my favorite movies ever was also released. So the timeless muisc from that movie made it to the number one spot in today’s list.
1. Star Wars – Main Theme
Still hard to believe that both movie and music are nearly 50 years old.
2. David Bowie – Heroes
3. Supertramp – Give A Little Bit
I played their greatest hits album again and again later in the 80s.
4. Fleetwood Mac – Go Your Own Way
5. Normaal – Oerend Hard
I say oeh… I say Ah…
6. Donna Summer – I Feel Love
I still hear this one getting played occasionally while clubbing. Patrick Cowley’s 15m remix is my favorite.
7. Eagles – Hotel California
One of the ultimate campfire songs.
8. Jean Michel Jarre – Oxygene (IV)
Can you believe this is that old?
9. Dillinger – Cocaine In My Brain
I actually thought this has been a hit in the early 80s, but according to the charts I am wrong.
