Did you ever wonder if there is life in space? Of what it would be like to travel into space? At home in the Netherlands there is so much light pollution that you hardly see any stars. But here in Brittany, there is a lot less light, so on a clear night you see a countless amount of stars. When you look good you can see satellites fly over, and if you are lucky you can spot some falling stars.
So I wonder sometimes if there is life out there. And to be honest, I do think there is life out there. When the space is so big it would be pretty arrogant to think we are on the only planet where there is life. But maybe someday we will find an answer. I hope I will still be around at that time.
Why these questions? Because it is Space Exploration Day. And like many with those special days, it triggers some music around this theme. I will also add two theme related bonus albums. So here we go, enjoy!
1. Cosmic Gate – Exploration Of Space
Off course this song popped up immediately. One of Cosmic Gate’s earlier tracks before they made a switch from hardtrance to trance.
2. David Bowie – Space Oddity
I just noticed this song is from 1969, the same year as the moon landing. If you are a trance fan like me, you might also like this remix Solarstone did.
3. The Orb – Spanish Castles In Space
One of my favorite Orb tracks. Will have this played at my funeral.
5. Elton John – Rocket Man
6. Frank Sinatra – Fly Me To The Moon
7. Muse – Starlight
If you ever have the chance to see Muse live, do it!
8. Steve Miller Band – Space Cowboy
9. V-Ti – Space Dogs (Solarstone Reconstruction)
Another lovely piece my Solarstone.
10. Dave Matthews Band – The Space Between (DJ Tiesto Remix
Have to admit I actually never heard the original song, but this is one of my favorite Tiesto remixes.
Bonus Album 1: KLF – Space
KLF’s debut album. Rumour says there is a lot of Orb involvement in this album as well.
Bonus album 2: Pink Floyd – Dark Side Of The Moon
Off course Pink Floyd should be in this list with an album title like this.
