Today is the longest day of the year, at least on our side of the planet. This is the time when the sun shines the brightest and also the longest on June’s clear skies. This phenomenon is also known as solstice. Earlier today I had a look at wikipedia and ChatGPT to find a good definition. But guess what, if you really want to know more about this, please have a look here or here.
What I do know is that this phenomenon is an inspiration to many. In celebration there are many festivals all around the world. Music wise it is also a big inspiration. For today’s list I found lots of great Solstice tracks. And since Solstice marks the start of summer. Tracks with summer in the title will do as well.
1. Andain – Summer Calling (Josh Gabriel Mix)
21 years old meanwhile, but still such a great track. This one was featured on Tiesto’s In Search of Sunrise 3 mix, which still gets on occasional play.
2. Kuba – Give It Time (Indian Summer Mix)
A couple of years ago I was ordering some Orb related cd’s from Liquid Sound Design’s Bandcamp page. There I also noticed Kuba’s Animalia album. Absolutely stunning. After that I started collecting all Kuba’s cd’s. Still a few to find. This track is from his How The Future Sounded album.
3. Youth & Gaudi – Good Summer (The Egg Remix)
More great music from Liquid Sound Design.
