Day 132: Song Contest favorites

So, tomorrow night is the final of the annual Eurovision Song Contest 2023. Each year there is a lot of discussion about what the Dutch contestants will be. And it is never good enough. Although I have to admit some of them were really shocking. A future list of Dutch entries who did not make it might be an idea.

But the discussion and the media coverage got me thinking what my favorite Song Contest songs are. So I had some thought, and here are my favorites, enjoy!

10. Bucks Fizz : Making your mind up (UK, 1981)

9. Milk & Honey with Gali – Hallelujah (Israel, 1979)

8. Vicky Leandros : Après toi (Luxembourg, 1972)

7. Johnny Logan – Hold me now (Ireland 1987)

6. ABBA – Waterloo (Sweden 1974)

5. Teach In – Ding a dong (Netherlands 1975)

4. Nicole – Ein Bisschen Friede (Germany 1982)

3. Johnny Logan – What’s another year (Ireland 1980)

2. Sandra Kim J’aime la vie (Belgium 1982)

1. Duncan Laurence – Arcade (Netherlands 2019)

Doing a bit of cheating again since Duncan’s version was remixed by Solarstone.
