Are you feeling thirsty? Or do you just feel like having a drink? Well, take your chance, since today is World Cocktail Day. Seems like a good excuse to have a proper drink. Personally I have never liked beer, so if I am drinking it is a cocktail anyway. And besides some occassional switches my taste had not changed that much, so I am pretty steady sticking to number one on this list. But nevertheless, I had a look around and made a Top10 of some great cocktails. Cheers!
1. Cuba Libre
My absolute number one favorite alcoholic drink. Coke, (dark) rum, ice and a twist of mint or lemon. Drank this with all kind of rums, always tastes good, and never gets boring.
2. Captain & Coke
Just a variation on the classic Cuba Libre. Captain Morgan Spiced rum & coke.
3. Dark & Stormy
Dark rum, ginger beer, crushed ice & lime. Had this drink at luch on a business trip to Belgium last year. I was glad I was not driving.
4. Vodka & Coke
Just like the name says. Pretty stupid no one thought of a fancy name for this.
5. Babe magnet
Fanta Orange & vodka. This one was invinted my my mate Kjell. We were drinking this on holiday near the campfire. As soon as you opened the bottle the ‘babes’ wanted a sip.
6. Colorado Bulldog
Just noticed this one while browsing for some cocktails to complete this list, seems pretty interesting: vodka, coke, milk, Kahlua & chocolate syrup.
7. Mojito
The Mojito, I have to admit this is one of those cocktails I occassionally swith to. Most likely if we are somewhere on a tropical island.
8. Old Cuban
Carribean rum, lime juice, sugar syrup, Angostura Aromatic Bitters, Brut Champagne & mint leaves. Sounds tasty, but might feel like you got hit with a hammer the next morning.
9. Black Russian
Vodka & Kahlua, never had one, will try one shortly.
10. Bloody Mary
Vodka, tomato juice, lemon juice, Tabasco, Worcestirshire sauce, pepper & salt. Rumour says this one can kill hangovers.
