Day 77: My favorite PC games

The title might also be my favorite retro pc games. Since I have never been a huge gamer, most games are more than 20 years old meanwhile. Although I think some of the more recent games are very cool, they are not my priority. And some of the newer games have riculious requirements. Don’t want to invest in a bigger/better/bolder videocard just for an occasional play. Besides that I have plenty of other stuff in life that keeps (or kept me busy). But about 25/30 years ago I did play more games. So today I’m looking back to my favorite PC games.

10. Risk II (2000)

Never played the board game that much, but the PC game was pretty addictive.

9. Tomb Raider (1996)

Playing around with Lara Croft is always good isn’t it?

8. Command & Conquer: Red Alert (1996)

Some of these command are still stuck in my head: yes sir, ready and waiting. Affirmative.

7. Star Wars: Rebel Assault (1993)

I think this was the first Star Wars game I ever played. Prepare to engage target!

6. Wolfenstein 3D (1992)

Kill those nazi’s!

5. Carmageddon (1997)

Sometimes I want to drive like this in real life and just hit or run over all those idiots on the road.

4. The Secret of Monkey Island (1990)

Wow, looking back that really looks old. I have played this a lot.

3. Unreal Tournament (1999)

Cool thing about this game is that you could also play it in a local network. We used to play this on Friday afternoon at work a long long time ago.

2. Age of Empires: The rise of Rome (1998)

I played other versions of AoE as well, but the rise of Rome is the one I played the most.

1. Commandos: Behind Enemy Lines (1998)

If I would het a euro for every hour I played this game, I could go on a short vacation. Not only this one, but also the follow up games. I still have the remastered edition of Commandos 2 installed on my PC.
