Yep, as I mentioned the day before yesterday, hearing Barry White on te radio triggered multiple lists in my head. So after the White list and the Barry list, today it is time for some more music similar to Barry White. And what do I mean by similar? Well, that can be interpret in many different ways. Similar voice, similar soulfull sound or from around the same era. Did I cover myself enough now? And if not, who cares? I just hope you enjoy these great sounds the way I do.
Note to self: make a playlist or put this Top10 on cd/usb.
10. Teddy Pendergrass – When Somebody Loves You Back
9. The Commodores – “Easy”
8. Al Green – Let’s Stay Together
7. Isaac Hayes – Theme From Shaft
6. Bill Withers – Ain’t No Sunshine
5. Barry White – Can’t Get Enough Of Your Love, Babe
Well, Barry had two number one positions in my previous lists, so today let’s give that spot to someone else.
4. James Brown – It’s A Man’s World
This song was song at the wedding of my friends, what an absolute great track. Still getting goosebumps from this. At the wedding the song was sung by Charlie Luske. There is a version from him singing this song available on Youtube.
3. Stevie Wonder – Master Blaster (Jammin’)
Stevie Wonder doing a reggae track. This song has such a happy vibe.
2. Bobby Womack – Across 110th Street
Could have shared this one earlier in my soundtracks list since this track is featured on the soundtrack of American Gangster. Did not to that then, so it well deserves this 2nd spot.
1. Marvin Gaye – I Heard It Through The Grapevine
Actually the only artist in this list where I have a CD from floating around somewhere. I also could easily do a Marvin Gaye Top10.
