Day 65: Formula 1 Predictions

So, did we all enjoy yesterday’s race? I’m sure I did. For Max it might have been slightly boring, but behind him I have seen some nice battles. Last week I shared a list of my favorite drivers. Now, after the first race I will share my predictions for the championship this year. Maybe it is a bit too soon after one race, but let’s give it a shot. Would be funny to read this when the season ends in November. What are your predictions? Please share in the comments.

10. Valtteri Bottas (Alfa Romeo)

Not very spectecular, but Valtteri will just be around to collect his points.

9. Pierre Gasly (Alpine)

Scoring points when starting from behind. Great job Pierre! Let’s do this a couple of more times.

8. Lance Stroll (Aston Martin)

Although the Aston Martin is one of the fastest cars on the grid, Lance will not convert this in podium places. He is just too reckless and will not have the luck he had the past weekend.

7. George Russell (Mercedes)

Last year George scored more points than Lewis. I predict this year will be different. Lewis will get oversome of his frustration or he will use it on the track to have a better mindset.

6. Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes)

Mercedes will improve the car during the season but it still not the best design. Lewis will keep on complaining like he always does.

5. Charles Leclerc (Ferrari)

Just like last year Ferrari has still some work to do. Leclerc is getting frustrated about that which will cost him some races.

4. Carlos Sainz (Ferrari)

Carlos will finally prove why he is driving for Ferrari. Je cannot keep with Alonso and both Red Bulls, but he will collect his points during the season.

3. Sergio Perez (Red Bull Racing)

I almost feel sorry for Checo when in interviews he mentions he is able to become world champion. Although he is a great driver and hopefully will be able to help Max when needed (I doubt it will), I think he cannot cope with Alonso.

2. Fernando Alonso (Aston Martin)

Yes, after seeing the speed of the Aston Martin this weekend, combined with the skills of Fernando Alonso, I dare to predict that he will end 2nd in the championship.

1. Max Verstappen (Red Bull Racing)

Best car, best driver, no discussion about that. If yesterday’s race was an indication of what is coming, then we won’t see very much of Max this season. It’s lonely at the top.
