Day 51: Favorite inhouse devices

So, let’s do a Top10 without music for a change;) But what? Well, why not my favorite inhouse devices. I just compiled a list of my favorite inhouse devices. Bit strange, but my phone did not make it to the Top10. Extra strange since the phone is able to replace some of the other devices on the list. Anyway, here are today’s favorites.

10. Samsung LE37C650L TV

This could be the oldest device in this list. It is more than 13 years old. I bought this TV when I stil lived alone in Koog aan de Zaan. When I moved in with Natasja it has been in storage for a while. About 5 years ago when we moved into our current house I placed it in my mancave, but later we moved it to our bedroom. Still working properly after all those years.

9. Google Chromecast

Although number 10 is still working perfect, the software and options are a bit outdated, therefore we added a Google Chromecast to it so we can stream anything from our phone, tablet or NAS to the TV.

8. Laptop HP450G8

This actually is the laptop from my employer. Most of the times I work from my own PC on our digital workspace, but occasionally I sit downstairs in the living room, and then the laptop is easier to use.

7. Samsung TV UE49MU7000

The TV in our living room. Not too big, great design, great colours.

6. MagiMix 4200XL

Not all devices are for entertainment only. Some are fore preparing food. This machine is a great kitchen aid. I use it most of the times when preparing fresh pasta sauce or Chili con carne.

5. Tefal OptiGrill+ GC712D

Another brilliant kitchen device. Just click what you are preparing, and the device will let you know once it is done. We even bring this one with us when we are going away for a weekend and stay in an Airbnb.

4. Synology NAS DS213J

The perfect NAS for home use. We just use it to store our music and photos, and to download and stream movies. This model is meanwhile 10 years old. Since Synology recently release the DS223 model, ours might get a replacement this year.

3. LG Ultrawide monitor LG 29UM69G

Initially I bought this monitor so I could use it to work with two screens at the same time. But I have to admit I hardly use that function. I even added a 2nd 24″ screen next to this one. But for work, managing my site and watching some Youtube or movies occassionally it is perfect.

2. Mackie CR3 speakers

You might have picked up based on my previous posts that I do like some prtoper music. And for proper music you need some proper sound. That is where these active Mackie speakers come in. No matter how hard I play music, the sound remains crystal clear. If you are looking for a bit bigger speakers to connect to your DJ set or other devices, try the CR4 series.

1. Desktop PC

There we are, at the number one in this list, the desktop PC. Meanwhile about seven years old. But since I compiled it with some decent specs like 32Gb Ram and an i7 processor at the time, it is still working as expected. Added an SSD meanwhile to get it working a bit smoother, but still very happy with this one.
